Larch claddings

Classic larch claddings are produced out of Siberian larch timber. Larch claddings are exclusive by their colour, durability, field of usage and processing ways. Colours of the Siberian larch timber claddings are light yellow, orange, golden and reddish.  Siberian larch timber is one of the firmest of conifers. Because of the low growth of larch, density of a dried timber is about 800 kg/m3. Larch claddings density and firmness enables to use them for individual houses decoration and also in public places (schools, marketing areas, public buildings). Larch timber is rich in tarry and that is why claddings may be used without impregnation or painting. Claddings that are nailed without any additional processing gain grey color over time. In order to sustain natural larch colour or to change it to another, planed claddings have to be covered with oil. Another way of claddings’ processing is covering in iron oxide; this way claddings gain dark black colour. This type of processing is popular is Scandinavian countries.

Larch claddings gallery *- larch

Why Siberian larch?

Because of the high density of Siberian larch timber it is more difficult for insects to penetrate into timber. In addition, tarry works as a natural antiseptic – protecting timber from insects, rot and fungus. Larch claddings also have the same qualities.

Often hardness quality is equated with density; however, hardness could better be described as timber resistance to depression. If there are lesser infractions and scrapings, there are lesser chances for water and fungus to penetrate into timber.  For this quality, Siberian larch is distinguished as long-lasting, that way helping to endure nice appearance of the claddings for a long time.

Durability of Siberian larch timber:

10-15 years in contact with soil;

50-100 years unprotected outdoors;

100-150 years, protected outdoors

Siberian larch claddings are dried in industrial way that is why the level of moisture reaches 16%.

Quality Class AB or higher. Quality description.

Defects, that are invisible after mounting, are permissible.
